Slippery elm, also known as red elm, fawn elm, or Indian elm, is a small North American tree that has been traditionally used by herbalists for over 100 years. It is said to have been used by the native peoples of North America and early settlers as a survival food. Its bark is known for its mucilaginous components, which can help coat and soothe GI (digestive) tract tissue.

Dosage: Drink a small cup (180 ml) 3-4 times a day as tea.
Mix 1 teaspoon in 1 cup of water and boil gently for a few minutes, stirring constantly. Leave to cool. Add honey and sip or gargle.
